Michele Thomas Quartet performing at Pete Miller's Evanston

The Michele Thomas Quartet returns to Pete Miller's in Evanston in July! The daughter of a preacher, Chicago singer Michele Thomas brings an irresistible gospel-soul warmth to jazz. Michele’s performances, like her music itself, are deep and emotional - blending genres of jazz and soul together with elements of folk and using her voice and songwriting to stir something deeper within people.  These performances hearken back to the sensibility of Sarah Vaughan, the atmospheric arrangements of Cassandra Wilson and fervent lyricism of Bill Withers.

Michele Thomas Quartet performing at The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant

The Michele Thomas Quartet returns to the Chicago Firehouse Restaurant in July! "Rebuilt after a devastating fire, the second incarnation of this South Loop American eatery set in a former firehouse has an elegant, traditional look with plush booths, a tin ceiling and landscape murals. The decor befits its upscale, classic menu (think seafood towers, Dover sole, steaks) backed by a full bar including cocktails, punch bowls and a global wine list." ~ Zagat

Thomas, Hedberg and Allgood - A Dedication to Lambert, Hendricks and Ross - Winter's Jazz Club

The Michele Thomas Tribute-tet presents: A Dedication To Lambert, Hendricks and Ross

“The premier jazz vocal act of all time, Lambert, Hendricks & Ross revolutionized vocal music during the late '50s and early '60s by turning away from the increasingly crossover slant of the pop world to embrace the sheer musicianship inherent in vocal jazz.” ~ John Bush, AllMusic.com

Performing the music of this astounding vocal group will be three Chicagoan jazz vocalists coming together in their shared love of this iconic vocal ensemble. Michele Thomas, Jeff Hedberg and Alyssa Allgood will put their voices together to recreate the arrangements of the great LHR songbook with samples of some of their most popular recordings as well as some lesser known gems. Join them for this performance and experience the melodies of Ellington, Basie, Miles Davis and Horace Silver filtered through the vocal brush strokes of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross.

Jeff Hedberg and C11 bring the swinging West-Coast "Dek-tette" music of Marty Paich back to Chicago's top listening room.

The C11 is back on stage at Chicago's legendary Jazz Showcase! Next Wednesday night, the band hits @ 8. Special guest vocalist, Michele Thomas will join the ensemble to perform some charts that were originally recorded by the great Audrey Morris in 1956, with the great Marty Paich.  Paich's arrangements were for string quartet, trumpet and rhythm section. They've been rescored to match C11's "Dek-tette" instrumentation.
